What is a Fluid Bed Dryer?
A Fluid Bed Dryer uses the principle of fluidization — heated, filtered air is blown upward through a perforated distribution plate at sufficient velocity to suspend (fluidize) the granule or powder particles. In this suspended state, every particle is surrounded by drying air on all sides, resulting in highly uniform and rapid moisture removal.

- Air Intake & Filtration: Ambient air drawn through pre-filters and HEPA filters
- Air Heating: Filtered air passes through steam/electric heater (typically 50–80°C inlet)
- Product Loading: Wet granules from the RMG charged into the product container (bowl)
- Fluidization: Heated air flows upward through perforated distributor plate, lifting and suspending granules
- Drying: Hot air surrounds every particle, absorbing moisture; moisture-laden air rises into expansion chamber
- Bag Filter: Fine particles captured in bag filters; periodic shaking returns them to the bowl
- Exhaust: Humid air exits via exhaust blower; LOD monitored during cycle
- Discharge: After reaching target LOD, product discharged from lower bowl outlet
