A Vacuum Tray Dryer (VTD) removes moisture and solvents from materials under reduced pressure — typically 25 to 100 mmHg — which lowers the boiling point of moisture and enables drying at temperatures as low as 40 to 80 degrees C. Heat is supplied indirectly through steam- or hot-water-heated shelves, while a vacuum pump extracts vapours to a condenser for solvent recovery.
